What costs extra
Exactly one thing, and only if you run payroll:
- $99/year — payroll tax-table update subscription. Federal withholding tables, FICA limits, FUTA/SUTA wage bases all change every year. The update keeps your payroll calculations correct for the new year. Skip the update and your payroll will still run, just with the prior year's tables.
What does NOT cost extra
- Adding another company file: $0
- Adding a CPA via the Accountant Edition: $0
- Bookkeeping features, depreciation, reports, IIF/CSV import, bank rec: $0 forever
- Support email: $0 (response time: best-effort, single-developer shop — usually within a business day)
Honest about the limits
FreshLedger Pro is a Windows desktop app. It runs on macOS in a Windows VM (Parallels, UTM, etc.) but there is no native Mac or mobile build. It is single-user at a time per file. There is no automatic bank-feed integration — you import transactions from your bank's CSV/OFX/QFX/QBO download. If those constraints don't work for you, FreshLedger is not the right tool, and we'd rather tell you that now than after you bought it.
